While she undoubtedly took photos of your wedding for her portfolio, a framed photograph of you and the groom is something she can display in her office and cherish for years to come.

Decorative Gift Bags

Pretty, Practical and Personal

Wedding planners are always carrying swatches, portfolios, photos, product samples, her computer and more to meetings. Why not give her an elegant, monogrammed portfolio bag that she can use to carry with her when she meets with future brides.

Something Extra

Buy Something for Yourself

Gift cards are always appreciated. You can be practical and give her a gift card to a local office supply store or you can pamper her with a gift card to a local spa, salon or restaurant. Even a card for her favorite coffee shop is something she’ll enjoy.

Any thoughtful gesture you choose is something that will remind her that she not only gained a client but she gained a friend.

What are you considering or have given to a wedding planner as a thank you gift when she gave you terrific service?

5 Common Misconceptions about Needing a Wedding Planner

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

  1. You Need a Big Budget to Hire a Planner

Most professional wedding planners will work with any budget. In fact, the smaller your budget, the more you need a planner to help you stretch your money to its maximum.
  2. You Will Lose Control over Your Wedding Plans

Most planners will take your ideas and enhance them and then bring you several options that not only match your wishes but also your budget.
  3. My Venue Has an Onsite Wedding Coordinator

Most onsite wedding coordinators have the venue’s best interest in mind rather than yours. They may help coordinate what was listed in your wedding package, but they won’t likely be concerned or available to help with your other important wedding needs.
  4. I Want a DIY Wedding

It’s great if you’re crafty and have lots of time and many other helpers to make invitations, favors, and so forth but an experienced planner can show you where you can save money and may waste money on DIY projects. Plus, she likely has resources to allow you to buy your supplies wholesale or at greatly discounted prices.
  5. Wedding Planners are Expensive

Brides who have worked with a planner will tell you that the time and money the planner was able to save them because of vendor discounts and keeping them from making costly mistakes more than balanced out their fee.
